Berkshire Provincial Xmas Party 2021
Tickets are now on sale for the Provincial Xmas Party 2021 in support of the Berkshire 2023 Festival.
The deferred Annual Meeting of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Berkshire 2021, previously scheduled for the 3rd June 2021 took place, without any Covid imposed constraints, on the 17th September 2021, when 140 Companions from Berkshire met in the Temple to enjoy this much anticipated Annual Event.
The attendance would have been much larger, but in keeping with other Provinces, the meeting was restricted to Berkshire Companions, in order to give priority to those receiving honours in the Province and to allow for safe spacing in the Temple, and the Flavell Suite afterwards.
The Acting Officers of 2019, who have had a much-curtailed year in office, took their places to witness over 50 Companions receive their Appointments and Promotions awarded in 2020 and 2021, and receive the congratulations of the ME Grand Superintendent.
The MEGS opened the meeting by welcoming all present and expressing his satisfaction that normal meetings were now beginning to take place throughout the Province with good attendances, and that it was now possible to see people in three dimensions once again.
Prior to the Investiture, the ME Grand Superintendent thanked E Comp Jem Whitmore, PGSwdB for his work and support during the period of lock down and restricted meetings, particularly in setting up the many Zoom meetings held by the Executive to keep in touch with the Chapters, during this time. He looked forward to continuing to work with him in the coming year.
The new Second and Third Principals, E Comp Philip S Howells, PAGDC, and E Comp Colin D Townsend Green, PPGSwdB, were then duly obligated and installed in their respective Offices. Following which the ME Grand Superintendent thanked E Comp Rodney L A Bancroft, TD, PAGDC, for his inspiring and extensive term as Third Principal, and for the work he had done with setting up the Royal Arch Ambassadors and in supporting the Royal Arch Representatives in the Craft Lodges, and presented him with a Collarette and Jewel of that Office.
The ME Grand Superintendent announced that he was pleased to present a Certificate of Meritorious Service to three Companions, E Comp Brian Bernstein, PPGSN of Tamesis Chapter No. 2926, E Comp Victor A Comley, PPGSN of Loyd Lindsay Chapter No. 3058, and E Comp Phillip Batten, PPGSN of Loddon Chapter No. 3427, for their longstanding and extensive involvement with their Chapters and the Province over many years.
A total of 97 Companions had received either 1st Appointments or Promotions since June 2020 of which 52 were in attendance and received the congratulations of the ME Grand Superintendent for the work they have done in their Chapters and for the Province.
In his address following the Investitures the ME Grand Superintendent thanked the Executive officers and the Chapters for their many and varied efforts to keep in touch with and support each other during the difficult times. He also paid tribute to E Comp Mike Warner, who retired as Second Principal, for his loyalty and support and unstinting commitment, since his first appointment as Assistant Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2008, wishing him well in his future endeavours.
